Summer Reading Challenge

ROUND 2!

Saturday, May 26, 2007

Hello. My name is Equiano from Lost in Translation. I blog mostly about African fiction, so I’ve decided to use this challenge as a way to read some of my general non-African titles. I wandered around my bookshelves and pulled a few books off that I’ve been meaning to read for a while. The result is a bit of a strange mix, but I’m looking forward to them. Since the challenge lasts two months, I thought it would be realistic for me to select a book a week (bearing in mind that I’ll be reading other African titles alongside this selection!). So, here are my choices:

ALLOTTED TIME - Robin Shelton
THE BLUE TAXI - N.S. Koenings
EXTRA VIRGIN - Annie Hawes
JANGO - William Nicholson
PITCHING MY TENT - Anita Diamant
RESTORATION - Rose Tremain
SWEETNESS IN THE BELLY - Camilla Gibb
VERA - Elizabeth von Arnim

For more details as to why I’ve selected them, see this blog post. Happy reading!

Welcome Equiano! Your blog is great, I do not know much about African fiction so I will be popping by to see what you recommend. Great list for SRC!

Happy Reading-
Amanda
