i did it!

i finished the fifth and final book of this challenge on sunday - so i could get started on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. i just now posted my review, so i'm officially done! woohoo!

i read five novels by Jodi Picoult. i liked them all, but in descending order, i'd rank them as follows:

  1. Nineteen Minutes
  2. Vanishing Acts
  3. The Tenth Circle
  4. Perfect Match
  5. Plain Truth
(the links are to my reviews.)

thanks for a great challenge, Amanda! it's been fun!

three down, two to go

i've just finished the third of the five Jodi Picoult novels on my SRC list - Vanishing Acts. i've posted a brief review on my book blog.

before that, i strayed from the list and read Stephenie Meyer's New Moon so i could discuss it with my daughters. you can read about that on my book blog too.

now i'm going to try to finish at least one of the two remaining books on my list (Plain Truth and The Tenth Circle) before August 1!

alison's progress

i'm making slow progress . . . life just keeps interfering with my reading time, it seems!

i spent week 4 reading Jodi Picoult's Nineteen Minutes - the first of the five Picoult novels that comprise my list - and i really liked it. (you can read my review here.) week 5 will be spent on Perfect Match.

now that we're past week 3 ...

like i promised at the start, because this challenge started before the Spring Reading Thing finished, i spent the first three weeks reading some of my remaining SRT picks. the ones i read between june 1 and now were Hide by Lisa Gardner, The Last Summer (of You and Me) by Ann Brashares, Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, and The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. (the links are to my reviews.)

now that we're a third of the way through, then, i'm finally ready to tackle my SRC list of Jodi Picoult novels. i started Nineteen Minutes last night, and i'm heading to bed now so i can read some more of it ...

alisonwonderland's list

i'm alisonwonderland - or Alison - and i blog about books at So Many Books, So Little Time. i blog about the rest of my life at We're All Mad Here.

i'm currently working on finishing my Spring Reading Thing list by June 21 (and i'm afraid that i'm not going to succeed) - but on June 22 i'll start to tackle my Summer Reading Challenge list. in attempting to create this list, i considered several possibilities for a theme: biographies/autobiographies, time travel books (since i've been interested in those lately), and selections from my piles of books purchased from the local library surplus sales, among other ideas. i finally decided to pick five novels by one author - Jodi Picoult. i've read two of her books already this year, and i'm very interested in reading more of her - so my Summer Reading Challenge list is as follows:
  • Vanishing Acts (2005)
  • Nineteen Minutes (2007)
  • Plain Truth (1999)
  • The Tenth Circle (2006)
  • Perfect Match (2002)
